TIP OF THE MONTH – QUICKLY SEE PATTERNS WITH OUR UNIQUE STYLING OPTIONS

September 15, 2017 By Linda Robertson

Symbology for Multiple Columns = Unlimited Display Options

Did you know PetroDE has the ability to display your data layers with user-defined symbols for multiple columns? Data layers have an option to be displayed with multiple style symbols for several different data columns selected by the user.  Use the map display to quickly toggle through them and easily see new trends and spot outliers.  Flexibility is built in to allow styles to be edited or added after a layer is uploaded.

Toggle the Display Options for Multiple Views of a Single Layer!

In the example below, four columns have been given symbology in the San Andres Treatment layer.  Users can quickly and easily toggle between the features they wish to view by selecting them in the Map Display / Symbols list.

Styles are created in the Create Layer wizard when either uploading a new layer or editing the styles for an existing layer.  That means you can change layer symbology or add styles for another column at any time!

Add a Bubble Map to Find that Sweet Spot

This example from the San Andres Formation in the Permian Basin uses our bubble map feature for BOE6 plus a user-defined style for proppant to fluid ratio to find that sweet spot you couldn’t see before. The small colored circles denote the proppant to fluid ratio and the larger blue bubble map circles show the density of BOE6.  Where there is a predominance of yellow and orange over the largest BOE6 bubble is the sweet spot of proppant to fluid in this area.

Remember to utilize these features the next time you upload a layer to PetroDE!

Fast, Easy, and Dynamic!
