As IT works through an update of a popular software package on my machine, it reminds me just how important Cloud Software is.
This update process is requiring the download of 2 GB of files over the Internet + installation of three updates, each step requiring about 10 minutes. Total time going from one version to another is about one hour of staff time. For a large organization and many users there will be a few shortcuts, but in the end at least half an hour of staff time is required per user just to keep the software up to date.
PetroDE is cloud-based, so updates take place automagically. You will not have to take IT’s time or your time to get an update. If you want to try out beta software, it is a simple matter of pointing to our beta website. No installation required.
All of this magic does require maintenance of basic infrastructure. You do need to have Chrome, Firefox, or Safari running, along with the Google Earth plug-in, but these are simple packages to maintain, and need to be maintained anyway for a safe web browsing experience.
Give PetroDE a try. Easy, powerful, fast… and add low maintenance! It’s the way to go.
