More Powerful Type Curves

August 7, 2018 By Linda Robertson

Updated Type Curves for Visualizing Well Performance in Minutes

In Time Series charts, we have added normalization options and projection parameters to Decline, Cumulative, and Combined Mean Projection charts. Our new type curves allow you to quickly compare different areas, characterize uncertainty in well performance, and look at more wells than ever before!

Now you can normalize by:
  • Start of Production or Peak Month
  • Perforation Length

normalization

And adjust Projection Parameters:
    • b-factor exact value or optimize within a set range
    • Specify any EUR cutoff time, or at Production Rate
    • Set a terminal decline rate

PetroDE uses a Nelder-Mead optimization algorithm to search within the range specified to find the best fit for the other curve values. In some cases you may want to specify an exact value for b.

Dynamic Geospatial Analytics for ALL of your Data

Use PetroDE’s powerful and simple search tools to visualize any formation, area, time period, or completion type. With our updated type curves, you can account for operational problems and production outliers without giving them undue weight. Because PetroDE allows you to include all of your available data instead of a few idealized production streams, you get the big picture of real world performance in just minutes. And because you can include more data, PetroDE’s type curves are more accurate, statistically valid, and repeatable.  In fact, our type curves are so fast, you can now compare several different areas in the time it used to take to analyze just one.
